Terms of use

Safety comes first

These are notes from home mechanics, not a workshop manual and not professional instruction. Bicycles differ, components differ, and mistakes on brakes, steering or load-bearing carbon parts can cause serious injury. If a repair feels beyond you, stop and take the bike to a qualified mechanic. You carry out any work described here entirely at your own risk, and we accept no liability for injury, damage or loss arising from it.

Torque and manufacturer instructions

Where a manufacturer specifies a torque figure or a procedure for a component, that specification takes precedence over anything written here. Carbon components in particular are unforgiving of guesswork.

Use of the material

Read it, print it, and share it with friends. Quoting with a link back is fine. Republishing whole guides elsewhere needs permission first.

No commercial interest

We sell nothing and receive no commission. Tools are described by function rather than brand precisely so that nobody can mistake a note for a recommendation we were paid to make.

Availability

A hobby site, run at our own cost. It may go offline or fall out of date without warning, and no continuity is promised.

General

These terms are offered by private individuals, not a company. If a clause is unenforceable where you live, the remainder still applies.
